09:57 < TheSeven> unplug and replug your ipod, open fdisk to verify that it has 2 partitions again
09:58 < TheSeven> if yes, fetch the right firmware file at http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
09:58 < TheSeven> rename that .ipsw to .zip and extract it
09:58 < floriankr> ok, fidsk found the two partitions and the ipodpatcher found the ipod with the correct generation. But the ipod still displays "do not disconnect"
09:58 < TheSeven> there should be a big file called "Firmware-<whatever>" in there and some small ones
09:59 < TheSeven> dd the big file to the firmware partition of your ipod (the first one)
09:59 < TheSeven> for example: dd if=Firmware-* of=/dev/sdX1
09:59 < TheSeven> replace X with whichever drive your ipod is
09:59 < floriankr> ah, ok... i will try this now...
10:00 < TheSeven> then format the data partition (the second one) as FAT32
10:01 < TheSeven> and once you've done that, unplug your ipod, hold menu and select again until it reboots, and it should boot up the apple firmware again. now you can just start over and try iPL installation again.
10:02 < floriankr> sorry, this might be a silly question, but i'm not sure which firmware of the 5g i should download: (13/1.3) or (20/1.3) ?
10:03 < TheSeven> i would try the 20/1.3. if that somehow fails, you can still just put the ipod to disk mode again using the two key combinations, and just dd the other one
