14:44 < fu[h]ry> i once had an archaic roundcube webmail install on a webserver. it had a vulnerability where the /e flag was used in a preg_replace call, and some automatic script found it and used it to try and inject a snippet of PHP code that was run on every request
14:46 < fu[h]ry> in doing so, it rewrote my root .htaccess, which uses mod_rewrite to do virtual hosting - thus, the bot locked itself out of all virtual hosts including the one with its utility scripts
