I was following the manual install instructions and after fdisk didn't work one of the steps is to eject and try again, well after ejecting my ipod now continulousl 01:41 < BleuLlama> boot disk mode, restore, try again 01:42 < pts211> see, thats what I thought, but I cant get into disk mode 01:43 < BleuLlama> yes you can. reboot it, and hold down the appropriate buttons for your ipod model 01:44 < pts211> wow, nevermind! 01:44 < pts211> it wasn't working but you saying that made me try to get it into the diagnostics, that worked so I reset from there and now I got it.
